Welcome to 2018: Your New Dawn

Welcome to 2018, Your New Dawn

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah. 43:18-19

As we all know, by redemption, we are now members of the household of God, a ‘A New Dawn” Family (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:19).

It is the family of the justified, that is ordained to shine more and more until Jesus returns (Romans 3:24, Proverbs 4:18)

But what Is ‘New Dawn’?

In our context, New Dawn connotes, a life:

  • Where new things never cease happening (Isaiah 43:18-19, Isaiah 42:7-9, Matthew 3:6)
  • Where we continue to experience the strange works and strange acts of God as a way of life – John 3:8, Isaiah 28:21-22)
  • Where new doors continue to open to us (Isaiah 45:1-3, Revelation 3:7)
  • Where we continue to experience a change of Story:
    • From strength to strength (Psalm 84:7, Psalm 73:17)
    • From glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18)
  • Where things that eyes have not seen nor ears heard are the order of the day (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)
  • Where we experience new things:
    • Year in year out (Psalm 65:11, Luke 13:6-9
    • Month after month (Revelation 22:1-3, Isaiah 61:3)
    • And day in day out (Psalm 68:19, Psalm 23:3, Lamentations 3:22-23)
  • A family where every day is Christmas (Psalm 23:6, Psalm 33:18-19, Psalm 132:13-16)

Furthermore, we have a New Dawn root in God the father, the God of new things, who said:

  • Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing’ — Isaiah 43:18-1 9
  • The former things have come to pass, new thing do I declare’ — Isaiah 42:8-9

Remember God also said, ‘I am the Lord, I Change not;”. God is still doing new things in the lives of His people today (Matthew 3:6)

We also have a New Dawn root in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, whose mission on earth was and is still characterized by new and strange things, as we saw people exclaim concerning Him:

  • We never saw it on this fashion’ – Mark 2:12
  • We have seen strange things to day!’ – Luke 5:26
  • What manner of man is this?’ – Matthew 8:27

Remember also that Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). In addition, we have a New Dawn root in the Apostles, who manifested strange works and strange acts in their Ministries:

  • Unveiling mysteries that were hidden for ages (Ephesians 3:1-5, 8-11
  • We saw Peter’s shadow healing the sick (Acts 5:15)
  • Paul and Barnabas were called ‘gods’ in the likeness of men (Acts 14:11)
  • They were preaching strange things and commanding strange results (Acts 17:16-21)

Remember, the church is built on the foundation of Apostles and Prophets, so we have our foundation in strange works and strange acts (Ephesians 2:20)

  • Moreover, we are in the last days, the ‘New Dawn’ era of the Church of Christ on earth, the era of new and strange things (Joel 2:28-29, Zechariah 8:20-23)
  • This wave shall be so strange that it shall be spoken against by many people, but nothing shall be able to stop it (Joel 1:1-11, Acts 28:22, Isaiah 28:21-22)
  • However, new birth is the access of anyone to this “New Dawn” family (2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:4)
  • This is why we need to remain steadfast and unmovable in the faith and in our walk with God as individuals in these last days (Luke 22:28-30, Hebrews 10:38, Matthew 24:35).

Therefore, the prophetic theme for the year is:

My New Dawn – Isaiah 43:18-19

As the Lord lives, every day shall be Christmas for all His covenant children in the year 2018. Amen.

Jesus is Lord!
